Postdoctoral fellow

I grew up in California and became a triple Bruin. I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Physiological Sciences at UCLA where I studied the interactions between neurons and olfactory ensheathing cells (OECs). I stayed on at UCLA to complete my PhD in Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology (MCIP) and to investigate the mechanisms by which OEC transplantation promotes axon regeneration following spinal cord injury. I'm interested in neuroglial development, specifically the role of astrocyte maturation in neurodevelopmental disorders. Fun fact: I have lived in 2 other countries before moving to the USA.
